The Richardplatz located in Neukölln, the district with the same name, is a central square and village of the former Rixdorf village that was divided in 1737 in “Deutsch Rixdorf” and Boemian Rixdorf. It is located near to Karl-Marx-Platz. The streets: Richardstrasse, Kirchhofstrasse, Zwiestädter Strasse, Schudomatrasse and Hertzbergstrasse lead directly to the square.
Many buildings around the Richardplatz are today listed and show partly the original character of the former village.
The neighborhood south of the square is characterized by small businesses. There are mostly small crafts, retails and restaurants. In addition many free-lance professionals also work in the surroundings (such as lawyers, accountants and artists).
